The RO Filter System is designed to remove calcium and magnesium from the water. If the water also has high iron, manganese or biological content, the filters may require replacement more than once per year

It is important to know that the home’s water hardness may affect a TrueSTEAMTM humidifier’s operation. Typically, the harder the water, the more scale and sediment that can build up. In homes with hard water, Honeywell recommends a Reverse Osmosis Filtration System – which can remove dissolved minerals before they enter the TrueSTEAM. Adding an RO system in homes with hard water will extend the time between when the TrueSTEAM needs cleaning – resulting in increased homeowner satisfaction and reduced callbacks.
